We review the mechanisms and physical properties of quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) conductors in high magnetic fields. Low dimensional materials are susceptible to instabilities which lead to broken symmetry ground states, including charge density wave, spin density wave, and superconductivity. Since the characteristic temperatures of phase transitions are often relatively low, the corresponding. Quasi-One-Dimensional Models (G = 0). The transmission line model of Sec. can also represent the losses in the parallel conductors. With the conductors of finite conductivity, currents in the z direction cause a component of E in that direction. Because the tangential E is continuous at the surfaces of the conductors, this axial electric field extends into the insulating region.

The close relationship between experimentalists and theorists &#; whether solid state chemists or physicists &#; has, in the last few years, inspired much research in the field of materials with quasi one-dimensional structures. This volume, Part I of a two-volume set, reviews the Price: $ The primary interest into quasi one-dimensional conductors in last decades was focused on their low temperature properties, i.e. on the appearance of de nsity wave and/or superc onducting ground.

Quasi-One-Dimensional Organic Superconductors. The book includes a thorough description of a wide range of physical properties of organic superconductors of reduced dimensionality.

The authors start with an overview of the field followed by a background discussion and selected experimental topics.
